Accept Them for Who They Are

Accept Them for Who They Are

HARSH, BUT TRUE WHEN IT COMES TO RELATIONSHIPS: There is no such thing as a one-sided, all-positive relationship even though we may wish otherwise. The sooner you recognize this, the happier you will be. If you continue to want an all-positive relationship in a dualistic world of positive AND negative, you will experience repeated disappointments, develop resentment, and even anger.

The people you are in a relationship with are “human.” Don’t expect them to be who they are not – or live up to an unachievable, unrealistic ideal you have of them. Accept them for who they are – both their good traits and their undesirable traits. This is the way towards your ultimate sanity.
