12 TIPS TO RELAX AND REDUCE STRESS FOR TEENS & ADULTS

  1. Assess your life stress from 1-10 with 10 the highest. Emotional (home, relations) & work/school
  2. To help reduce the number, use the power of breathing in for 3, hold for 5, and out for 8
  3. Praying helps elevate your spirit and mood helping relaxation while meditation scientifically improves health
  4. Listening to calming music, helps reduce your heart rate, induce relaxation & focus on peace
  5. Play with a pet, and petting a cat or dog helps bring down blood pressure, and helps to feel better
  6. Laugh as much as possible, at funny movies, comical people in your life or recall funny moments
  7. Eat and drink healthy – more water (less soda ~ bad for bones) & increase fruits, veggies and fiber
  8. Express any pent up feelings you have, to allow for them not to turn inward and affect you physically
  9. Make a to do list to help organize your day, & a TO BE list, who you are looking to become in service
  10. Sleep ~ critical for health, to get 7-10 hours of REM (rapid eye movement) where healing begins
  11. Unplug from all devices and find caring friends to relate to, in conversation, fellowship and fun
  12. Explore natural ways to de-stress with aromatherapy like lavender to help sleep & relax, peppermint to energize and study, and rosemary to help memory and recall
